- OMNIPLAN was engaged to assess the condition of the buildings mechanical and electrical systems as well as determining its role as an expanded complex for the School. Analysis showed that much of the Bailey Building was sound structurally, but needed much work to upgrade the mechanical and electrical systems as well as permitting for today's.
As thought leaders, we have a responsibility to continue to help shape the neighborhoods of the cities we work in. To that end, we share hundreds of hours annually with work for the public good and welfare of our city. This is where we live and where we work. - CANstruction
A design/build competition between A/E/C firms that benefit the North Texas Food Bank. Each year teams are tasked to build a CANsculpture based on the assigned theme. At the end of the exhibition, all the food is donated to the local food bank. We have participated in this event for nearly two decades. Learn more.
- Girl Scouts Cookie Box Creations
For more than five years, our firm has mentored girls at Robert T. Hill Middle School through Girl Scouts of America in their annual 'Cookie Box Creation' competition. The program introduces STEM and critical thinking tools as well as creative and team-building abilities. The task is to transform ordinary cookie boxes into a piece of art. - On My Own Time
A regional art competition that showcases the talent and creativity of North Texas business professionals and hosted by the Business Council of Arts. There is a wide range of pieces, including photography, sketches, paintings and sculptures that are all displayed in our office. The winners are then displayed at NorthPark Center. Learn more.
- Park(ing) Day
A yearly event where parking spaces downtown are temporarily transformed into parks that engage with people downtown. Each installation promotes social interaction, civic engagement, critical thinking and creativity. Since 2013, Eddie Fortuna has led our team to design spaces that are both engaging and creative. The design in 2018 our team won 'Best Pro Design'. Learn more.
- Bark+Build
Architects and Contractors join forces each year for the Bark + Build competition to benefit the SPCA of Texas. The teams work together to design and build a unique dog house or a cat condo. The final products are displayed at NorthPark where they are auctioned off. In 2018, our team won the 'Big Dog' award. Learn more.
- Retrospect
An annual AIA Dallas design competition. In 2017 the theme was 'Cultivate'. Our team decided to Cultivate our Community by donating our piece to a community organization. We contacted local DISD school, Hexter Elementary, and asked what they needed most. Their response was an art piece for their new Xeriscape learning garden. Visit our Tangent page to learn more.

- Hearts & Hammers
A charity program that focuses on rehabilitating homes for people who otherwise can't make it happen. Teams will typically spend a day or the weekend on a home depending on the need. One year our team came together to design and build an ADA compliant ramp for a homeowner. Learn more.
- CASA Parade of Playhouses
Each year, Dallas CASA hosts an annual event to raise money for their cause to help abused and neglected children have a safe and permanent home. Architects and Engineers design and build a playhouse that will be displayed at NorthPark. The playhouses raise awareness and can also be purchased with raffle tickets. Learn more.
- WeCare
A holiday event hosted by Herman Miller in conjunction with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. The event gives kids the chance to create a variety of holiday gifts for their friends and families. It always warms our hearts to see their excitement as they go to each station and collect all their crafts and works of art for their loved ones.
